L'Art de Vivre est situé au coeur des Lèves et Thoumeyragues, un petit village dans la région d'Aquitaine. Les Lèves est situé dans l'est de la Gironde sur la frontière de la Dordogne, "Périgord Pourpre" avec sa capitale de Bergerac (la maison de Cyrano) et a coté Duras dans le Lot-et-Garonne. C'est le  pays du vignoble et ici on peut decouvrir des vins extraordinaires.

Rock Room

A light, comfortable and airy room with original wooden floor boards, facing south and looking out over the side alley... and the bakery. The outside facing wall is natural lime and fire stone. A radiator has been fitted in the room for the colder winter months.

Une chambre lumièuse, confortable et spacieuse avec parquet en bois d'origine, face au sud et avec vue sur le côté ruelle ... et la boulangerie. Le mur extérieur est naturel et en pierre apparente.

Turquoise Room

South facing, and fitted with an ensuite shower and toilet. The room is painted white with turquoise hints around the plints and beams. The fireplace has also been renovated even though it is no longer in operation. All rooms are fitted with central heating which only serves for the few colder winter months. While updating this site, the outside temperature measures around 28C and the inside temperature is a pleasant 20C... no thoughts about heating the room... .

Sud, et équipé d'une douche et toilette. La salle est peinte en blanc et turquoise. Toutes les chambres sont équipées de chauffage central qui sert uniquement pour les mois froid d'hiver.

Pine Room

Facing onto the garden and currently used as our own bedroom. Getting rid of the wall paper proved to be more challenging than we had anticipated and so did the removing of the carpet. The floor was sanded down about 5 times before we started waxing it. It took over 20 liters of wax to get it to look the way it does now but all the blood sweat and tears were worth it in the end.

Donnant sur le jardin, cette chambre  est actuellement utilisé comme notre chambre. Lumièuse, confortable et spacieuse avec parquet en bois d'origine.

Living room

This is where images are reviewed, feedback is provided and image editing can be discussed. This is also the place to enjoy a good conversation over a regional glass of wine. A fireplace will ensure a comfortable temperature in the colder months. The 80cm thick stone walls provide a cool haven in the scorching summer. The rest of the year this is just plain cosy.

C'est ici ou on examine les images, ou on foernie des commentaires  et l'édition d'images peut être discutée. C'est également le lieu de jouir d'une bonne conversation avec un verre de vin régional. Une cheminée assurera une température agréable dans les mois froids. Les murs de 80cm assurent une temperature agreable pendent les mois chauds.

Art de Vivre Gallery

The Art de Vivre Gallery has been officially opened and currently forms a spectacular showcase of some of Kees Terberg's work. Most of the work exhibited follows a specific theme which may or may not relate to current photographic projects.

La salle d'exposition "Galerie Art de Vivre" a été officiellement ouverte et est à ce moment une vitrine spectaculaire de certains ouevres de Kees Terberg. La plupart des travaux exposés suit un thème spécifique ou des projets photographiques en cours.

Ehhh

Most of the renovation works on the house have been completed but issues relating to the licensing have put a pause on any further advancements. In the mean time, the village itself is undergoing a complete renovation so the works have definitely not come to an end yet. Patience is the key...

Les Lèves et Thoumeyragues

The same goes for the village itself. It has also witnessed some minor renovations.  New lanterns have been fitted which illuminate the street. Where there used to be 5 lamps, there are now 26. Pavements have been broadened Publicly visible electricity and telephone cables have been hidden from sight, some of the worst looking buildings have had their facades refurbished. The church was the first to be revamped. Now the rest of the village is following suit. Progress as always, is slow but it will be well worth all the efforts, time and funds invested in them.
