The Dream
The only thing that
is sure in life is "change". Plans change and as long as it is in
our favour we should keep on smiling. The initial idea was to open L
Art de Vivre as a B&B but due to licensing problems this idea has
temporarily been scrapped from the agenda. Accommodation is
available but this is basic and limited to availability. The renovation works have
almost been completed but as we are still not sure of what we will
do with this rather substantial property we have decided to take a
break and enjoy the pleasures of life instead. The cave has been
stocked with great vintages, photographs have been hung in the
gallery, the garden is starting to reveal some colour and the pets
do not wish to leave the premises any more. Bella prefers to stay in
the kitchen, the cats in the old part and we just sit back and
relax. Time is something that we currently have plenty of so why not
enjoy it.
Photographic
challenges are becoming the order of the day since starting Kees
Terberg Photography, the registered professional service in July
2009. Currently specializing in wedding and product photography,
Kees remains available for any of your photographic commissions.
Just ask and the worst answer you can possibly get will be a "no".
Kees started his career in catering,
graduated in
Hotel Management and has always been passionate
about photography. He qualified as a teacher
through Highlands, Plymouth University Certificate of Professional
Development and has been a tutor
at the Jersey Arts Centre for many years. His photographic
work is internationally admired and he is a sought after
photographer when it comes to landscape, wedding and portrait
photography. His enthusiasm is contagious. According to Kees,
everyone can be a great photographer. Everyone has the eye, but in
some cases this may just need a bit of guidance and a gentle helping
hand to ensure that what the photographer wishes to capture, he or
she manages to capture.
Kees' work has been
exhibited at Offshore Banks like Gartmore Fund Managers Jersey and
Barclays Wealth Management, in cafe's such as the Plemont Cafe,
Thor's Bistro, The 69, The Old Inn, Big Verns, at hospitals and in galleries such
as the Jersey Arts Centre, the JPC, Salle Paul Broca (Ste Foy La
Grande) and some of his images are currently on display at the Art
De Vivre Gallery in Les Lèves-et-Thoumeyragues. Besides that,
over the years, Kees has entered a range of photographic
competitions and his work has been rewarded with publications,
trophies, certificates and special merits. The last special merit
was a picture of his Cuban lady smoking a cigar in the world
renowned competition of Photo.fr where it won the portrait category
for 2009. The most important
conclusion is that Kees' work is admired and appreciated.
